The story of
Dame Pauline Tallen
Pauline’s career began in the public service sector, where she quickly rose through the ranks. In 1976, she joined the Shendam Local Government Council, marking the start of a long and impactful journey in public service.
Growing up in Shendam, Plateau State, Pauline pursued her early education with a passion for learning and a drive to make a difference. She completed her primary and secondary education with outstanding results, eventually earning a Bachelor of Social Science degree from the University of Jos in 1982. Her academic journey didn’t stop there; she later attended the prestigious Harvard University Programme for Strategic Public Sector Negotiations, further honing her skills in governance and leadership.
Projects and Initiatives
Better Life Programme
Worked extensively to mobilize young and elderly women, and low income families and improve their livelihoods in rural communities
Healthcare Services
Served as Commissioner for Health, focusing on improving healthcare services in Plateau State.
Education & Youth Development
Founded and administered the first private nursery and primary school in Shendam. Engaged in numerous activities aimed at youth empowerment and development.
